Identity Manager Configurator Installation Guide

About this guide

This document gives an overview of the installation of PhenixID Identity Manager Configurator. Additional information is found on PhenixID web site or through PhenixID support.

Audience

This document is primarily written for system administrators. The guides describes installation and basic configuration of Identity Manager.

Installation

Prerequisite

Download

Installation media is provided through PhenixID support together with the required license.

Server

Platform support is constantly updated. Contact PhenixID support to get the most accurate list of supported platforms.
Primarily PhenixID is installed on Windows or Linux servers.

Server installation

Install IM Configurator on Windows

  1. Execute the installation media to start installation.
    – phxid_imconfigurator_windows-x64_5_1_0 (this was for 5.1.0 version)
    – If you install on Windows, make sure to run installation as “Run as administrator”)
  2. On Welcome to the PhenixID IM Configurator Setup Wizard page – click Next.
  3. On License Agreement page – Read the license agreement and select I accept the agreement, then click Next.
  4. On Select Destination Directory page – Click Browse to select installation location or accept the default location (C:\Program Files\PhenixID\IM\Configurator), then click Next.
  5. On Select License File page  Click Browse to locate your license file, then click Next
  6. On Select Start Menu Folder page – Select where the product icon should be placed, then click Next
  7. On Summary page – Click Next
  8. Click Finish to complete the setup

Install IM Configurator on LINUX using X

For install on Linux using Command Line Interface (CLI), see next section

  1. Open a Terminal 
  2. chmod +x phxid_imconfigurator_linux-64_5_1_0.sh (this was for 5.1.0 version)
  3. sudo ./phxid_imconfigurator_linux-64_5_1_0.sh
  4. “Welcome to the PhenixID Identity Manager Setup Wizard” – click Next.
  5. “License Agreement” – Read the license agreement and select “I accept the agreement”, then click Next.
  6. “Select Destination Directory” – Click Browse to select installation location or accept the default location (/opt/PhenixID/IM/Configurator), then click Next.
  7. “Select License File”  Click Browse to locate your license file, then click Next
  8. “Select Directory for Symlinks” – Select where the symlink should be placed, then click Next
  9. “Sample Tabs” – Select the LDAP directory you will connect the tool against, then click Next
  10. “Summary” – Click Next
  11. Click Finish to complete the setup

 Install IM Configurator on LINUX using COMMAND LINE INTERFACE (CLI)

For install on Linux using X, see previous section

  1. Open a Terminal
  2. chmod +x phxid_imconfigurator_linux-64_5_1_0.sh
  3. sudo ./phxid_imconfigurator_linux-64_5_1_0.sh
  4. “This will install PhenixID Identity Manager on your computer” – Press ENTER.
  5. “License Agreement” Read the license agreement, scroll by pressing ENTER and select “I accept the agreement”, by pressing 1 ENTER.
  6. “Where should PhenixID Identity Manager be installed?” – Enter path to installation location or accept the default location (/opt/PhenixID/IM/Configurator), then press ENTER.
  7. “Select License File” – Enter the path to the Identity Manager license file, then press ENTER
  8. “Select Directory for Symlinks” – Select where the symlink should be placed, then press ENTER
  9. “Sample Tabs” – Select the number of the LDAP directory you will connect the tool against, then press ENTER
  10. “Summary” – Press ENTER
  11. Installation is complete!
