PhenixID

Step by Step – Yubikey

Secure access using PhenixID MFA

PhenixID Multi-Factor Authentication (PMFA) includes several MFA delivery methods to choose from such as SMS, Voice, email, mobile app and hardware tokens for your users to prove their identity.

PMFA also support Yubikey.
By tapping your USB device (created by Yubico), you can automatically generate and submit a one-time password into a text field validated by PMFA.

Features of the PhenixID solution with Yubikey

  • Auto-enrollment
A Yubikey can be auto-enrolled the first time a user logs in. Steps for auto-enrollment:
    1. When user logs in (username and password and taps Yubikey device), PMFA will check if the Yubikey device is assigned to the user. If not, PMFA will verify that the Yubikey device exists in the Yubikey token database and that it is not enrolled to someone else.
    2. If Yubikey device is free the device will be assigned by PMFA to the user and the Yubikey will be verified and the user will be logged in.
  • Self service
PMFA also includes for user to enroll for their device through the PhenixID Self Service portal.
  • Delegated administration of Yubikeys
With the PhenixID MFA Administration portal, appointed administrators (e.g. Helpdesk) can enroll/prepare Yubikeys for user.
  • Reporting
With PhenixID Reporting an administration can easily get statistic on how many successful/unsuccessful login attempts with Yubikeys
